Finally, the moment that all the Miami Dolphins fans have been waiting for is here – Tua Tagovailoa is going to start his first NFL game. Tua’s professional career so far has been nothing short of a fairytale.
From the small city of ‘Ewa Beach in Hawaii to the riches of Miami and the National Football League, Tagovailoa has come a long way.
The former University of Alabama player made his NFL debut in the Week 6 win over the New York Jets. Tua came on in place of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the 4th quarter in the 24-0 win over the Jets.

Miami Dolphins Head Coach Brian Flores is confident that rookie Tua Tagovailoa will have a strong debut on Sunday. However, he added that Tua’s position as a starter is not guaranteed. Should the youngster fail to impress, Flores will have no qualms about bringing in veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick.

“So again, it won’t just be Tua, but he’s going to have to do his part, as far as communication, getting us lined up, making good decisions. We’re saying specific to Tua, but this is for anyone who steps on the field…
“So what we’re asking of him, we would ask of anyone that steps on the field. But again, he’s young. But yeah, we’re expecting him to go out there, play with good fundamentals, technique and execute,” Flores said via 247 Sport.
In 3 years with the Dolphins, Tua threw for 7,442 yards with 87 TDs while playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide Football team. This will be Tua’s first professional start since suffering the nasty injury while playing against Mississippi State.
