A few days ago, Cam Newton took to Twitter to talk about who he’d be willing to be a backup for. He seemingly left out Mahomes’ name. With this action, he snubbed Mahomes and his sliding abilities. Further, recently an old player from the Cincinnati Bengals has gone on to compare Joe Burrow and Mahomes.

It seems like it is judgment time for Mahomes. An ex-Pro-Bowler quarterback from the Bengals went ok to state his current quarterback preference. Carson Palmer went on to state his opinion. In his eyes, Joe Burrow is better than Patrick Mahomes.

As his words went viral, they caused a huge ruckus on Twitter. He spoke about the difference between the two quarterbacks. He said, “I think Joe is the best quarterback in the league. I know Patrick is phenomenal but I think Joe is more consistent. He’s more consistent. He’s more accountable to run the system and the play that’s called.”

While he might not think Mahomes is the best, as of now, Mahomes remains to be the reigning champion. It only remains to be seen if Burrow is able to change that in the upcoming season.
