Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are on the road this week. And their destination is the Raymond James Stadium for a showdown with Tom Brady‘s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Quarterbacks in the league have feared TB12 for over two decades now. However, that is not the case with Bengals QB Joe Cool. Burrow described his feelings before facing Brady in the most calm and composed manner.

And he did so using very few words. Burrow and the Bengals have been on an incredible winning streak. And the confidence was obvious in the Bengals quarterback’s reply to the reporters who asked him if he felt the pressure before facing the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

When reporters asked Burrow if he considered himself grateful for facing a ‘piece of history‘ in Brady, Burrow simply replied, “No, not really.” Some might even say Joe Sheisty was a tad disrespectful towards legendary quarterback Tom Brady. However, it has got to do more with Burrow’s confidence in his supremely able Cincinnati side.

The former LSU quarterback has led his Bengals to five straight wins and seven in their last eight regular season fixtures. And the confidence is acceptable after coming off of impressive Ws against Patrick Mahomes and a returning Deshaun Watson.

Joe Burrow has ample faith in his defense to stop Tom Brady

Joe Burrow will not have his entire army of wide receivers available tonight. Wideouts Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd left the game against the Cleveland Browns with injuries and former LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase will have to take the entire responsibility. Chase did a pretty decent job against Cleveland with 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, throwing the Browns’ secondary, who prepared for all three wideouts, terribly off. However, it’s not the offense that gives Burrow confident hope. It’s the Cincinnati Bengals defense that ranks 9th in the league right now. The Bengals’ pass rushers have held QBs under an 84 passer rating in their last 5 games and have allowed only 38.8% third-down completions.

CBs Eli Apple and Germain Pratt have also been stellar in coverage. And with Sam Hubbard rushing the offense, Tom Brady will have a tough time on Sunday. Especially with the absence of his key O-linemen, Ryan Jensen and Tristan Wirfs.
