Julian Edelman arrived in the NFL as a 7th-round pick (232nd pick). The California-born athlete was drafted by Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots at the 2009 NFL Draft. He was a quarterback during his time with the Kent State Golden Flashes football team.
The Patriots held private workouts with Edelman prior to the 2009 NFL Draft and were keen to work with him. He always knew that he wasn’t good enough to make an NFL roster as a quarterback and trained to play in various offensive positions. Eventually, he was selected as a potential option at wide receiver.
