Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams were brimming with confidence after their Week 11 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jared Goff and Co. started as favorites, heading into their Week 12 fixture against an injury-ridden San Francisco 49ers.
However, there was a surprise in store for the Rams fans on Thanksgiving weekend. Backup quarterback Nick Mullens led the visitors to a convincing 23-20 win over their divisional rivals in what was a major upset on Sunday.
Rams quarterback Jared Goff had a poor day at the office throwing for 198 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.

“I think other than the Super Bowl, the most disappointing game of Goff’s career. Because it was a hunt to me. It was like almost 100% on him, though the interceptions and the fumble are so bad. But he also missed open throws.
“He was tentative and you do worry with Goff, that you’re seeing some of the same problems which is when he gets knocked down… He wasn’t worried because his problems in that game were accuracy.

“And that shouldn’t be a problem for me. It was today like he wasn’t accurate… He’s had some good moments this year, but this game was totally on him and you don’t want your quarterback to be the reason you can’t beat your rival when they’re totally beleaguered,” Rosenthal said on the podcast.
After yesterday’s defeat, the Rams slipped to 2nd in the NFC West Division table behind the Russell Wilson-led Seattle Seahawks.
