Lamar Jackson has had his fair share of doubters ever since he stepped into the league. But the 26-year-old has constantly proved them wrong with his exceptional performances. Once again, he has silenced his skeptics by signing a five-year $260 million extended contract, the largest ever given to a QB.

But what’s even more interesting is the way he bagged this contract. Recently, in an interview with Baltimore Ravens’ show hosts, Jackson spilled out some beans and perfectly responded to his critics. He also talked about keeping the negotiations under wraps, not letting anyone know until the deal was over. Here’s the story:

Upon Jackson’s arrival on ‘The Lounge Podcast’, hosts Garret Downing and Ryan Mink were thrilled to have him and even more excited about his extension with the Baltimore Ravens. They posed the question that had been on everyone’s mind, and that was how he would tell his emotions if he had to use a SpongeBob meme after inking the contract. Jackson, in a creative way, portrays himself as a dancing SpongeBob. In the interview, he expressed his excitement and said that he was a rookie for the last five years, and now he sees himself as a new player with the same team.

When questioned about his emotions and response to doubters, Jackson offered a polite reply: “I really don’t have nothing to say to them.” He continued, “It never was about the people who doubted me. I always doubted I was a running back. I was a receiver.

The 26-year-old also revealed that he has always focused on handling his own business and moving forward. According to Jackson, he doesn’t feel like he has accomplished anything yet and believes his mom is the one who deserves everything.

For Jackson, his mom is his superhero

The Baltimore Ravens QB, Lamar Jackson, does not have any agents to make a big. Although he has expressed his self-contained nature many times, he is not alone on his journey. His constant support is his mother, Felicia Jones. She is the one who acts as her agent and was successful in negotiating & cracking a big contract for him.

Despite his failures, his mom pushed him to see forward and do his best. Jackson is very close to his mom and has three siblings other than him, whom Jones raised alone in the family.
