A dump truck rammed the QB while crossing an interstate in South Florida as a pedestrian; Leading to the unfortunate incident. After the reports emerged, people paid their respects. One, in particular, had a statement from Pittsburgh Steelers Icon, Ben Roethlisberger.
Haskins had only been with the Steelers for one campaign, but his colleagues have evidently adored him. Ben Roethlisberger spent a year with Dwayne Haskins. Fans expected Haskins to compete for the job to replace Roethlisberger, who retired after the 2021 season. the QB apparently left a pretty big impression on Roethlisberger.

Over the last several weeks, the 24-year-old quarterback has been in South Florida working out with prominent Pittsburgh playmakers such as Mitch Trubisky, Najee Harris, Chase Claypool, and Pat Freiermuth.
Dwayne Haskins receives condolences from a Steelers great
While the Pittsburgh athletes pay condolences to the departed athlete, former teammate and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, and his wife Ashley expresses their condolences to Haskins’ family and provided their thoughts on his passing.
While QB Roethlisberger doesn’t have a personal account, the BigBen7.com on Twitter posted the letter on social media on behalf of the legendary quarterback.

Roethlisberger posted a tribute to Haskins, “He came to work every day with a smile on his face and energy and love in his heart. I really enjoyed his passion and love for the game and wanting to learn and be the best. His smile and zeal for life will be missed!”

He further mentions that he wishes they had more time together on this planet. Ben will remember those times they spent together and the joys they shared. Ben repeats a line, exactly the way he said to Dwayne, who hopes he could play the ball like Haskins.

Roethlisberger and Haskins worked together in Pittsburgh for a season. The Steelers signed him as their third-string quarterback in 2021. Even though he never appeared in a regular-season game for the team, Haskins appeared in some preseason games for the Steelers, leading one of them. In his overall career stats, he threw for 2804 passing yards, 14 interceptions, and 12 touchdowns.
Dwayne Haskins always had a bright future in the NFL. Following Ben Roethlisberger’s departure, great things might have transpired if he would have excelled within the Steelers organization.

Haskins died early Saturday morning after being hit by a car on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale. According to Florida Highway Patrol, he was trying to cross the westbound lanes of the interstate when a dump truck struck him. The play-caller was just 24 years old at the time.
