Tom Brady created a huge stir when he decided to leave the New England Patriots in search of a new challenge. He found that in Florida with Bruce Arians’ Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs were impressive in 2019 but needed a strong leader in place of the inconsistent Jameis Winston.
They signed Brady to a two-year contract and also convinced former Pats tight end – Rob Gronkowski – to come out of retirement. With Tom Brady as their primary shot-caller, the likes of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and OJ Howard will surely be learning a thing or two this season. The question remains – What if Tom ‘The Comeback Kid’ Brady fails?

On a recent segment of Speak For Yourself, former NFL man Marcellus Wiley spoke about Tom Brady. Wiley was adamant that Brady will not be criticized if he fails to make an impact at the end of his first season with the Bucs.
“Now, let’s look at this situation for what it is – A GOAT switching a franchise. That happened in the NFL before, we all know what happened, when we’re talking about THE great Joe Montana who found himself in the Chiefs uniform,” Wiley said.

“Now everyone wants to talk about how ‘Wow, that went well’ in terms of the win percentage and he took them to the AFC Championship game. But people don’t remember, necessarily, how that year ended.”
“It ended with him going 9 of 23, 125 yards, no touchdowns, got beat by 17 and one interception against the Buffalo Bills. You think about that last game and then you go into the offseason, nobody was mad at Joe Montana. They’re like ‘Thank you for your services and thank you for taking us this far’…but if this year doesn’t go as planned, as advertised, trust me Tom Brady is just gonna sit there and say ‘Give me my mulligan and let’s go at it again’ and nobody is going to blink an eye,” Wiley concluded.
