Le’Veon Bell Says He’d ‘Retire’ Than Play for Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid Ever Again

Things haven’t quite been smooth sailing for Le’Veon Bell ever since his departure from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Once a regular name on the Steelers offense, now Bell has been relegated to that of a sporadic role player.
Raking up three Pro Bowl call ups during his time at Pittsburgh, the running back sat out the 2018 season following a contract dispute with the franchise.
A free agent in 2019, Bell signed with the New York Jets in hopes of resurrecting his NFL career. A mediocre season with only three touchdowns followed. A far cry from his Pro Bowl form.

His time with the Jets though was short-lived. Midway through the 2020 season the franchise decided that he was surplus to demands and thus ended up on the free agency market once again.
One team that took a chance on him were then defending Super Bowl champs, Kansas City Chiefs. Brought in as cover for rookie sensation Clyde Edwards AHelaire, the franchise made it clear that he won’t have as prominent a role in the Chiefs as he did with the Steelers and Jets.
Who Is To Blame for the Spat Between Aaron Rodgers & The Green Bay Packers?
Averaging 28.2 yards over nine regular-season games, Bell failed to make much of an impression. Now back on the market as a free agent, following Bell’s recent comments, one can be assured that the Chiefs definitely won’t be interested in bringing him back for 2021.
Le’Veon Bell has a feud with Chiefs coach Andy Reid
On Friday, Bell made a series of comments on an Instagram post that was completely unrelated to football. Bizarre as it is, the running back’s comments effectively ended his shot at returning with the Chiefs next season.
“I’ll never play for Andy Reid again…I’d retire first,” Bell commented on the post.

Andy Reid is a respected figure in the world of the NFL. A head coach for as long as one can remember, his endearing personality has made him a favorite among players wherever he’s coached. Thus such comments from Bell definitely come as a bit of a shocker.
“Ain’t no more finessing me with lies and (expletive) just to get me to sign with they team,” Bell wrote. “No more rushed decisions on my end, period,” he followed up with another comment.

Bell’s comments will definitely not go down well with potential suitors either. And with three seasons gone since his last Pro Bowl call up, one can only wonder if and when Le’Veon Bell will ever return to the NFL.
