Tom Brady Gets Candid About Being Favored by NFL Referees: ‘I’m Kind of a Pain in the Ass If You Don’t Already Know That’

Many believe that the NFL officials have favored Tom Brady frequently. People on Twitter have highlighted many such instances that the quarterback has gotten away with, with no penalties or fines. And finally, Tom Brady had his truest emotions flow in that matter as he agreed to that in the Let’s Go podcast with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.

During the playoff special installment of the podcast, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was asked about his say to those who believed that he has been favored by the officials on numerous occasions. The quarterback did not deny it; in fact, he admitted that many times his unsportsmanlike conduct has been scraped out, while others have paid hefty sums for it.

Tom Brady on being favored by the referees

“I always hear that to different degrees, about getting penalties and so forth and roughing the passers,” Brady said. “And I think that speaks too because they say that always, and I’m going like ‘I don’t remember the last time I got a roughing the passer.‘”

The seven-time Super Bowl winner suggested that there should be a stat for it. As to who has got the most roughing the passer penalties in the last 10 years. He further added that he hoped his name will not appear on that list. However, he then continued that he doesn’t get as many advantages as people think he does.

“I do know that they probably let me get away with a lot of unsportsmanlike conducts,” Brady continued. “Talking smack to the other teams and talking smack to the refs, you know I get the right call. So they give me a lot of leniency in those instances. I’m kind of a pain in their ass if you don’t already know that.”

And so there it is. The GOAT himself has revealed that he gets an unfair advantage over others for his unsportsmanlike conduct. However, it should also be noted that Brady does not commit to such actions that often. The Tampa Bay quarterback certainly has a very naïve reputation on the field, and he never abuses it.
