There was a lot of excitement surrounding Sunday’s game at the Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri. Reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs were to host Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots in Week Four’s blockbuster encounter. A battle between senior quarterback Cam Newton and ‘half a billion dollar man’ Patrick Mahomes was a treat for NFL aficionados across the globe.
However, it seems that we will now have to wait a little longer to see these two teams face-off after Saturday’s unfortunate reports. NFL insider Adam Schefter was the first to claim that Patriots quarterback, Cam Newton, tested positive for COVID-19. Hence, the 2015 NFL MVP was reportedly ruled out from the Week Four showdown. In addition to that, the NFL could postpone Sunday’s game to a further date.

New England Patriots vs Kansas City Chiefs Week Four clash postponed
ESPN correspondent Adam Schefter took to Twitter on October 3 with some disheartening news for Patriots fans. 31-year-old quarterback Cam Newton was the latest NFL star to test positive for the deadly coronavirus strain. As a result, the Foxborough-based NFL franchise also failed to stick to the schedule and did not board their flight to Missouri for the game. This more or less confirms reports that the clash is set to be called off.

Schefter further added that they could play the game on either Monday or Tuesday. However, official confirmation from the league is yet to be given on the same.

This came after eight Titans team members, including five players, tested positive for COVID-19. As per reports, Kansas City Chiefs’ fourth-string quarterback Jordan Ta’amu also tested positive for the virus earlier this week.
