Ahead of the clash, Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the media and spoke about various ambitious projects to be carried out in Europe. His talks even extended to the agenda that the league was hoping to find two new franchises which could potentially become a division in the future.

“There’s no question that London could support not just one franchise, I think two franchises. I really believe that,” he told the reporters. Meanwhile, this exciting plan forced Neil Reynolds to suggest setting up a new division instead.

Because Europe already owns two NFL-ready stadiums and adding two more to the list is no biggie. “That’s part of what we’re doing, right?” Goodell said.

“We’re trying to sort of see, could you have multiple locations in Europe where you could have an NFL franchise? Because it would be easier as a division,” he added to his explanation.
