NFL’s Rising Star Joe Burrow Gives a Pro Lesson in Gripping the Football To Perfection: “Always on second lace”
The rising NFL star Joe Burrow has quickly risen up to the ranks after playing his first Super Bowl last season. His throwing abilities as a quarterback have been revered in the games he played. Therefore, he reveals his secret to throwing the ball the way he does to Chris Simms of NBC Sports.
Burrow revealed that throughout his high school and college days; he has maintained the same grip. Joe Shiesty thought about changing his grip when he got to the league. However, it gave up the idea since the QB couldn’t spin it the way he wanted it to spin.

In addition, mentioning his grip secret, Burrow said, “Always on second lace. Two and under five…I try to go pinky on the lace for when it gets windy and dry. You just get a better grip.” Burrow’s secret is in his finger positioning on the lace of the ball. It dictates his throwing trajectory and power in windy, dry, or wet conditions.
How did Joe Burrow perform in the 2021 season?
In the two seasons Joe Burrow has played with the Bengals, he performed significantly better in the latter one. Moreover, his impeccable record in the last season propelled the Bengals to reach the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, they lost to the LA Rams.
