NFL legend and current Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Tom Brady speaks at length about keeping his emotions in check on the ‘Let’s GO!’ podcast. And in the midst of all the fun talking, Brady drops what is probably a stunning revelation for a lot of fans: Brady reveals his favorite UFC fighter!
One of the GOAT’s most admired UFC fighters is Kamaru Usman. Even though Brady doesn’t directly refer to Usman as his favorite UFC fighter, it is obvious what he means. When asked about meeting Odell Beckham Jr. at the game, Brady recalls, “You know it was great to see him, I’ve known him a long time, you know he’s a Super Bowl champion and everyone saw kind of what he put on the line last year, so so proud of him.”

“I know he’s gone through a lot of rehab this offseason with his knee and I know that you know he’s itching to get back to football and he was there with one of my favorite UFC fighters too so it was good to see both of them in Odell’s home state, so always good to see him.” Added the QB.
Who is Kamaru ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Usmanu
Kamaru Usman is a former pound-for-pound welterweight champion, with a 20-2 record. Usman recently made headlines when the Instagram page CombaTalk pointed out the massive disparity in payout per fight between Usman and Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez (58-2). With this revelation, the recent push by Usman to land a fight with Alvarez becomes clearer for fans, although Usman maintains that his motivation is competitive and not financial.

“Talk about legacy. Look what I’ve done to this point. When I’m done and I walk away, the guys are going to look back and say, ‘Wow, he was special.’… I want to do something that’s never been done before. These guys [MMA fighters] don’t really scare me anymore.… when have we ever seen pound-for-pound in both combat sports [Usman and Alvarez] in their prime? We’ve never seen that.” Said Usman.

Odell Beckham Jr. reveals Tom Brady is a “Mentor and a big brother”
Another prime takeaway from the podcast is Brady saying, “It was great” to see OBJ. Beckham, a super bowl winner last season with the LA Rams, is a free agent two weeks into the season. His ACL injury in the Super Bowl game has led to his 2022 season in doubt.

And seems he is in no hurry to get signed up either. Last week, Beckham showed up at the Rams v Bills game and joked about signing up with whoever won the opener. And even tweeted about joining the Bills, as a joke, of course.

In 2019, Beckham admitted that he wanted to play with Brady and the New England Patriots. His appearance at the Bucs v Saints game this week, along with Usman, is definitely conceivable as a sign that OBJ wants to be on the Bucs’ roster. But will the Bucs want him, though, is a different question?

Beckham has previously opened up about how Brady is a mentor and a big brother to him. And how he didn’t like the QB at first because he kept winning. This was right before he and the LA Rams beat Brady and the Bucs, of course. That too, in the divisional playoffs. It is certainly going to be a one-of-a-kind experience watching OBJ and Brady play together. Fingers crossed all over for this one.
