Deion Sanders has been a trailblazer in the field of college football coaching. He has been one of the very few high-profile NFL players to go on and coach an HBCU college. With some brilliant work at Jackson State, Sanders set up a system, designed for discipline and success. And he is very proud of the players he has seen in the HBCU. Therefore, he was furious when the draft didn’t have a lot of players from HBCUs getting drafted even after he moved out of JSU. In fact, only one player was drafted in the 7 rounds and he took to Twitter to berate the league for this.
After his comments, even members of the community like Stephen A. Smith took to his podcast to speak about it. He cited the examples of some famous personalities to reiterate Coach Prime’s point.

He said, “I’m ashamed of the 31 other NFL teams that couldn’t find draft value in ALL of the talented HBCU players & we had 3 more draft-worthy players at JSU.”
