Last year, he accidentally disrespected a late NFL legend through his TikToks. Jackson Mahomes was criticized a lot for it, and he himself knew that he had mistakenly done the wrong thing. The instance happened when the Chiefs took on Washington Football Team last season.

The Washington Football Team was honoring NFL Legend Sean Taylor. Unfortunately, Taylor passed away at the age of 24 in 2007. He was a brilliant player, and the people in Washington loved him. Apparently, Jackson Mahomes danced on the late Sean Taylor’s memorial logo at FedEx Field in Washington. After that, he received a lot of backlashes.

Jackson Mahomes later apologized for his actions. He wrote, “I want to sincerely apologize for accidentally being on the Sean Taylor #21 at FedEx Field. We were directed to stand in that area and I meant absolutely no disrespect to him or his family.”

Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Matthews, also retweeted this tweet from Jackson. Last season, Brittany also found herself at the center of a lot of controversy with fans. Despite all that, the Chiefs’ quarterback has always had the back of both his wife and younger brother.

Jackson Mahomes would like to avoid being a distraction to Patrick Mahomes

The upcoming season will be very tough for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. The AFC West has gotten a lot tougher, and Mahomes will also be without his former WR1, Tyreek Hill. Due to it, Mahomes needs to be fully focused on the field, and avoid any off-the-field distractions.

That is why Jackson Mahomes needs to be better at handling himself than he did last season. The fans of opposing teams are always looking to criticize him. Because of that, he needs to avoid being any kind of distraction to his brother.
