His defensive effort was one of the reasons that the Chiefs had such a tough time overcoming the Eagles. The 49ers are definitely going all out trying to ensure that their roster has absolutely no weakness in terms of their defense.

With he had a promising season, Hargrave has earned the kind of lucrative contract he has been offered. Furthermore, with the kind of talent, the 49ers hold in the quarterback section, it makes sense for them to offer a smaller deal to Darnold.
