In the current NFL offseason, the wide receiver market has transformed. Many top WRs have been traded away from their teams to fulfill their contract needs. Another WR who is among possible trade conversations is 49ers receiver, Deebo Samuel.
Deebo’s contract talks with his team have broken down completely. As a result, he is looking for an opportunity with a new team. However, Deebo’s chief concerns were not money-related. Surprisingly, Deebo wants to play in a more traditional receiver role rather than a running back/receiver role.

His departure from the San Francisco 49ers seems certain. Many teams are already gearing up to acquire his services. Notably, the Green Bay Packers had emerged as a strong contender to pursue Deebo Samuel.
Packers want to replace Davante Adams with Deebo. However, Green Bay might not be the place where Deebo will end up. The Philadelphia Eagles have emerged as the front runners to acquire his services.
How have the Eagles become a frontrunner for acquiring Deebo Samuel
The Philadelphia Eagles can trade for any player they want prior to the draft. Primarily because they have two first round picks in this year’s draft. Apart from the picks, the Eagles can package trade up some outstanding players as well to acquire a player like Deebo.

Furthermore, if Deebo ends up in Philadelphia, he will become their WR1, a role he would cherish, as he’ll become a primary receiver for his team. The Eagles are likely to offer him a long extension which Deebo wants, and as a result, there is a strong possibility of Deebo getting traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
