REPORT: Deshaun Watson’s Unpredictable Future Leaves Cleveland Browns Opening Their Doors to These Prospects

The Cleveland Browns seem to have stabbed their feet by acquiring the Clemson alumni Deshaun Watson this off-season. Although he got cleared from all the charges, there are still uncertainties looming over his availability on the field.
Moreover, Baker Mayfield’s trade to the Panthers has left the franchise with no choice but to look for an alternative to cover for the upcoming season. According to recent reports, the Browns are hunting for veteran AJ McCarron and Josh Rosen as backup options.

As per the USA Today reports, the duo was spotted in the Browns workout sessions on Thursday. It certainly spurred rumors of a possible acquisition and a viable option for the Browns among the current free agents. Moreover, McCarron played as a backup QB for Deshaun Watson during his tenure at the Houston Texans.
It gives him an upper hand over other prospects. He was the fifth-round pick for the Bengals in the 2014 NFL draft class. The youngster started four games after coming out of Alabama, including a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers that season. Later, he jumped from Bengals to the Raiders and then Texans marking his presence for 18 games.

In his entire career, McCarron passed for 1,173 yards with a completion percentage of 62.6%. Out of 174 passes, he completed 109 passes with six touchdowns and three interceptions throughout the journey.
Similarly, Josh Rosen happens to be another prospect the Browns were looking up to. After the recent workout session, his fortune seems to have shined, and he has reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Browns.

“It’s tough because they’re trying to figure out what pieces they’ve got for the season and what plays they want to put in,” Hunt said. “There are different plays for Deshaun and Jacoby, different playbooks, different things we can do at quarterback,” he added.
