“Russell [Wilson] Is A…”: Sean Payton Gets Brutally Honest About Broncos QB After A Harrowing Season

Earlier in the season, the  Denver Broncos had pulled a big move by firing their old head coach. Since then, there had been rumors about who was going to fill the position. One of the biggest rumors was of Sean Payton becoming the coach. These rumors were proven to be true as recently, Payton accepted the head coach position. Furthermore, he did not waste any time in stating his public opinion about the Broncos QB,  Russell Wilson.

The coach spoke about his opinions on the QB. Furthermore, he spoke about what his emotions are for the upcoming season. The coach did not mince his words and got brutally honest with his expectations for the next season as well.

Payton spoke to Jeff Duncan and mentioned his opinions on his new quarterback. The new HC was not at all hesitant in stating his emotions about the different expectations they will have for the upcoming season.

The coach did not seem to have any ill will toward his new player. He mentioned that he was excited to be on the same team as him. He also said, “Russell is a hard worker and has played at a high level and won a lot of games in this league,” as per NBC Sports. It seems like Payton has faith in his new quarterback and their ability to turn it around. Furthermore, they very much need to. The Broncos had a horrible record with 5 wins and 12 losses. Furthermore, Wilson himself did not do well this season.

Russell Wilson this season

Russell Wilson did not have a very good season this past year. While he was not able to lead the Broncos anywhere, his personal performance did not amount to much either. The quarterback played 15 games. Out of these 15 games. Wilson only had 16 touchdowns with a meager 3,524 yards thrown. Furthermore, the QB also had a whopping 11 interceptions, averaging 234.9 yards a game. It seems like Wilson needs to step it up next season.

It seems like the Broncos quarterback needs to buckle up and perform well for the upcoming season. For the time being, it seems like Payton has high hopes for the team with Wilson. It only remains to be seen how true those hopes will be.
