What the Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett and his family are going through right now is unimaginable. The family of six, who fondly referred to themselves as ‘Barrett 6‘ have now lost their youngest member. Their 2-year-old daughter, Arrayah, drowned in their swimming pool last Sunday. Since then, many from the NFL community have come forward to show their support for the grieving family.

For the first time since the horrific tragedy, someone from the family has addressed the football world about the passing of Arrayah. Thanking everyone who helped and reached out to the Barrett family during this testing time, the wife of the 2x Super Bowl champion, Jordanna Barrett, bid an emotional adieu to her youngest child. Here is what she said:

Grieving mother says goodbye to her young one

The birth of Arrayah was extra special for the Barrett family. She was born just two months after Shaquil Barrett won his second Super Bowl ring. Sadly, she was taken away from the family just days after her second birthday. The unfortunate events from April 30 unfolded when little Arrayah accidentally fell into the family’s swimming pool in their Tampa Bay residence. Her grieving mother finally broke her silence after the tragedy to share her agony,

We love you forever and ever and always. I can’t wait to see that precious smile again. And just hug you so close. I would do absolutely anything. There is no Barrett 6 without you, and we will forever hold your place down here. Until we all meet again in heaven,” a bereaved Jordanna Barrett penned down.

The family also linked the 2-year-old’s obituary with a special message, describing Arrayah as “kind and magnetic,” with a “sparkle in her eyes that drew your attention.

For the unversed, Shaquil and Jordanna Barrett are high-school sweethearts, who got married in 2012 before the outside linebacker entered the NFL. The couple parented four children, Arrayah being the youngest of the lot. What compounds the grief associated with this accident was the fact that the toddler celebrated her 2nd birthday only days before her untimely passing. “You made our family complete. I love you, baby girl,” the Buccaneers No 58 had said in his daughter’s birthday post.
