From being discovered at a tender age to becoming a household name, Gisele Bündchen’s journey to fame is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Her contracts with prestigious brands like Victoria’s Secret and her unparalleled elegance on the runway made her a revered icon in the fashion industry. While she took a step back from her career after getting married to Tom Brady, her skill and elegance as a model were still talked about. The world of fashion rejoiced with her return.
However, Gisele’s glamorous exterior hid a darker reality. Despite her success, she struggled with the mental toll of an overworked schedule and an unhealthy lifestyle. Her memoir reveals the harsh lessons she learned and how she managed to turn her life around. Furthermore, she gave her readers some advice that would help millennials live their life to the fullest.

The hard-learned lessons of Gisele Bündchen
As a model, Gisele had to adhere to a jam-packed schedule. While it seems like the life of a model is glamorous, Gisele explained what is behind the curtains to such a life. In her memoir, Lessons: Path to my Meaningful Life, she explained the toll the model life took on her and how she coped with it. She spoke about how her food and habits of hers had an immense impact on her body. The model mentioned alcohol, junk food, and candy as catalysts that impacted her. Furthermore, she explained the importance of keeping your body healthy for the betterment of your mind and soul. In her memoir, Gisele mentioned some advice for her fans and spoke about the perils of ignoring one’s body.
Her advice was especially applicable to millennials. She said, “It’s easy to say in hindsight, but if you don’t take care of your body when you’re young, I guarantee you’ll pay the price someday, if not in your early twenties, as I did, then in your forties or fifties.” The model also spoke about a habit of hers that she used as a huge coping mechanism in her life. Her unhealthy habit was one of the only things she felt that helped her in dealing with the stressors of her life. She took to her memoir the way it brought out some peace in her tumultuous times.

Gisele’s unhealthy escape
One of Gisele’s biggest unhealthy coping mechanisms was smoking cigarettes. As per the Insider, Gisele would start her day off with a mocha Frappucino and 3 cigarettes. She also mentioned that this was one habit she had that helped her cope with the stress of her job. Ironically, she described smoking as one of the only ways she could breathe properly. She said, “All I knew was that when I smoked, it was the only time I allowed myself to inhale and exhale fully and deeply.” In her head, smoking was the only reason she could ensure that she found a breather.

Fortunately, her life took a turn for the better with her habits. She ensured that she turned her life around with a holistic approach. Furthermore, her advice to millennials ensures that they take care of themselves to ensure that they remain in their best health.
