Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had a thrilling 2019 season in the NFL. They pulled off a stunning win in Super Bowl LIV against Jimmy Garoppolo-led San Francisco 49ers in Miami. After trailing for most of the game, Mahomes led the Chiefs to victory in the fourth quarter.
The 49ers led by a 20-10 margin with 11:57 on the clock. But Patrick Mahomes had different plans. Mahomes and Chiefs went on a rampant scoring spree in the final quarter of the Super Bowl. They demolished San Francisco by dropping 21 points over the final 8:33 of the fourth quarter to earn a smooth 31-20 victory. The Ringer website, which was launched by former ESPN sportswriter Bill Simmons, released the now-famous ‘Pat Mahomes, Take me home’ song’ at the start of 2019. This song is a parody of the famous ‘Country Roads by John Denver’.
Almost instantly, it turned into a huge hit amongst Chiefs fans. It echoed across pubs and sports bars across Kansas throughout the 2019 season. After their Super Bowl LIV win, the site released an updated version of this song which included Chiefs fans as well.
