Mike Evans is in a league of his own. A 3-time Pro Bowler, Evans has been leading the charge for the Buccaneers offense for some time now.
The wide receiver took to the field on Sunday with 40 yards to reach the milestone. And he reached it with his 3rd reception of the game.
With 13 touchdowns to his name, the 2020 season with Brady in the pocket has been a personal best for him as well. What’s more, he now also holds the franchise’s record for single-season touchdown receptions.
An injury derails celebrations for Mike Evans
Evans celebrations were unfortunately short-lived. Soon after breaking the record, Evans stumbled to an injury. While running a route in the Falcons endzone to receive a pass from Brady, Evans slipped on the turf and injured his left knee.
What would have been touchdown #14 for Evans saw him hobbling off the field instead. The slip on the wet turf has now left Bucs fans anxious about their leading wide receiver. While a place in the Playoffs has been confirmed for the Buccaneers, the status of Evans’ injury remains unknown.
