“That Guy Can Cause Problems”- Former NFL Kicker Pat Mcafee Has High Expectations From Arizona Cardinals Backup QB

The final game week of the regular season is a crucial one for both the Arizona Cardinals and the LA Rams. The two teams take on one another on Sunday night, and the winner gets a ticket to the Playoffs. The stakes are as high as ever. But both sides have injury concerns, especially regarding their quarterbacks.
The Rams will be without Jared Goff, who sustained a fractured and dislocated thumb in their last outing against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Cardinals, meanwhile, have an issue with starting QB Kyler Murray. The 2019 first overall draft pick who has a lower leg injury is doubtful.

While the Rams are likely to hand a start to John Wolford, a former AAF QB, the Cardinals have a more interesting backup at their disposal.
Playoff hopes at stake for the Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals’ backup QB is former Winnipeg Blue Bombers man, Chris Streveler. The 25-year-old QB has previously played 35 games for the Canadian Football League side. In that span, his side won the Grey Cup championship.
Cardinals’ HC Kliff Kingsbury said Kyler Murray has a “lower leg injury” and his status for Sunday’s game vs. Rams is uncertain.

Former Colts kicker Pat McAfee, during a segment of his show, recently talked about his admiration for the QB and the high expectations he has from Streveler.

“Chris Streveler won the Grey Cup in the CFL, and this might be my new favorite football player. This guy played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers… He was wearing a cowboy hat, fur coat, big chain, big beard. I love that man,” said McAfee.
The element of surprise
McAfee (tongue in cheek) questioned as to how Streveler isn’t a starting QB in the NFL yet. But he did outline that Streveler is a solid player.

“I don’t know how he isn’t a starter in the NFL right now. He’s potentially playing for the Arizona Cardinals playoff hopes this weekend… By the way, I watched some highlights of him and he’s a player.”
He even said that the former CFL QB could pose a lot of problems to Sean McVay’s Rams in the tense final match up.

“Now, I don’t know if Sean McVay and John Wolford know what they got potentially lined up in the desert against them with this guy. But I did a lot of internet surfing on Chris Streveler, he is a problem,” he added.
On Sunday, it’ll be the battle of the backup QBs. A battle in which whoever comes out on top will be a cult hero for their franchise for the years to come.
