“That Passion Is Still There”: Colin Kaepernick Drops Interest in NFL Yet Again After Going Unsigned For Six Years

With trade talks for the next season in full swing, some old talent of the league seems to be sending messages to the NFL. Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, made some statements that are bound to get the attention of owners all around the league. While Kaepernick’s activist side remains very active, the ‘quarterback’ in him is just as alive.

Kaepernick went on to make an interesting statement that addresses nothing but football. Furthermore, his words went viral on Instagram and they ended up catching the attention of a lot of fans. As it went viral, fans had a mixed bag of reactions to the quarterback’s words.

Considering his previous trysts with the league, one might wonder if Kaepernick is even interested in playing in the league. However, his recent statements are sure to clear up any confusion. Via Sports Illustrated, the quarterback made his wishes to play very clear. He said, “Yeah, that passion is still there, and that ability is still there.” 

Furthermore, his statements went absolutely viral on Instagram. The timing of his statements seems very pre-planned.

Additionally, fans picked up on the timing as well as the statements he made. They went on to publically state their opinions on what Kaepernick revealed. They did not hold back as they went on to flood the Instagram post with comments.

Fans bunch up in a frenzy as Kaepernick’s statement goes viral

NFL fans did not hold back as the quarterback’s statements went viral. They stated their opinions on Kaepernick’s passion for football. One fan questioned why he didn’t take a deal he was offered and said, “Why didn’t he take the deal when Denver offered him one then?” Furthermore, a fan mentioned a prospective time period for Kaepernick’s training period and said, “he’s gonna be training for the rest of his life.” 

A user also spoke about how repetitive his attempts are and said, “Same thing every year around this time. Give it up Kap, your time has passed.” One fan questioned what Kaepernick was training for and questioned, “Training for what?” Finally, one fan had a snide comment and said, “I thought the NFL was like slavery Kaepernick? This dudes is a joke.”

All in all, fans do not seem very impressed with what Kaepernick had to say. They did not seem convinced by Kaepernick’s willingness to return to football, given all that has happened in the past. However, it would be too soon to say it is impossible for Kaepernick to return to the league. It seems like only time will tell if the quarterback will ever wear an NFL uniform again.
