The Arizona Cardinals have had a turbulent offseason. On the player front, the Cardinals went on to release one of their star players, DeAndre Hopkins. With the kind of talent, he brought to the table, it was almost surprising the team was willing to let such a great player go. However, this is not all the turbulence they’re facing. An extremely important former executive of the Cardinals has been through an incident that has disrupted his familial life.

Sadly, the executive in question has had a marital disagreement that went on to become violent. Interestingly, even though he was a former executive the Cardinals still went on to release a statement given his position within the organization.

A marital tussle that became violent

The former Cardinals exec and brother of the current owner have had a tough few weeks.  Reportedly, he was involved in a terrible dispute with his wife that even become physical. As per TMZ and the Paradise Valley Police Department, Bill Bidwell Jr. alleged that his wife, Nicole Kugler Bidwell, physically assaulted him. He claimed that his wife snapped at him over a fight about his absence when carpet installers had come home. He mentioned that his wife apparently hit him with his hands about a hundred times before hitting him with a glass and shattering it.

Bidwell agreed to the fact that he did retaliate in self-defense before calling for the police. The police eventually arrested Nicole and booked her on one count of assault. However, her husband did not file any charges against her. The Cardinals even released a statement and spoke about the incident that happened. The statement addressed the arrest and said, “Two weeks ago, Nicole Kugler Bidwill was involved in an incident that resulted in her arrest. This is a difficult time for their family but her husband and children love her very much and are thankful that she is currently receiving the help she needs. They ask that their family’s privacy be respected as they deal with this challenging personal situation.”

Bidwell Jr. has surely had a turbulent few weeks in terms of his personal life. While the team has released a statement for their ex-executive, Bidwell Jr is yet to release his own personal statement.
