2022 has been the year Tom Brady has shown the most signs of being a normal human. He has had a year to forget in many ways thus far. With the divorce, poor form, and old investments going bad, Brady’s struggles finally prove that he is not a superhuman. To add to this, he just revealed that he, too, had a bout of stage fright.

On the ‘Sirius XM podcast’, Brady revealed that he needed two tequila shots before getting on stage when he hosted SNL in 2005. Though Brady has never shown signs of nervousness on the field, the blockbuster athlete revealed that he had the jitters before getting on stage.

When Brady was invited to a Saturday Night Live as a host, he recalled feeling the jitters for the first time.

After the executive producer of the show rejected all of Brady’s plans just minutes before taking to the stage, Brady revealed that he was in a big soup. For his brand value, he had to get out there and put on a stellar show. “I need tequila. I’ve got to get down. I’ve got to get changed. I need two shots of tequila before I go on. Like, let’s get this thing going, you know?” said Brady as he recalled this incident from 17 years ago.

The QB even related this experience to the field. While he doesn’t feel any pressure on the field, he said the pressure of performing on live TV was similar to the final moments of a football game that could go either way. However, he went on and put up a solid performance on SNL, as he was his true self and very easygoing. Maybe it was the tequila or maybe it was just the charisma of the man.

This wasn’t the first time Brady has had a story with tequila. Very recently, post their Superbowl triumph, Brady celebrated with his teammates. In true Florida style, the Bucs took to the blue waters to celebrate their win. In videos that circulated from this, Brady was living his best life.

The quarterback had too much fun celebrating his win as he was helped out. Just not this, he even had the courage to fling the Vince Lombardi trophy from one boat to another. Throwing the Lombardi trophy like that definitely needs some courage and it was evident Brady had adequate liquid courage for the day. Luckily, the trophy or Brady no one was injured on that day.
