NFL quarterback turned analyst Tony Romo faced backlash on social media on Sunday after he seemingly defended Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the Packers vs. Seahawks broadcast.
Rodgers earlier this month admitted that he made false and misleading statements on his vaccination status to the media. His unvaccinated status broke out after he was found COVID positive ahead of his Chiefs fixture. His sudden revelation shook the NFL head to toe as Rodgers, the face of the NFL, came out as a liar and destroyed his own public image big time.

Rodgers faced harsh criticism for his shocking disclosure, which should be the case. Since flouting the NFL COVID-19 protocols and misleading everyone, can never be pardoned with any kind of excuse. However, Tony Romo holds a different view as he went on to defend the quarterback.

“I’m glad he did that. I’m glad he took responsibility for that,” Romo said, via Audacy.com. “I’m glad that he said that he misled people… and I think the biggest thing, you know it’s a polarizing issue, but I can promise you he felt the weight of it the last few weeks, it’s something that he’s not thinking about anything else, and it’s been, make no mistake, a very challenging week for him.”

However, according to the quarterback, he “didn’t lie in the initial press conference” as he had been researching homeopathic alternatives to the vaccine during his weekly appearance in ‘The Pat McAfee Show’. Subsequently, in his next interview, he apologized for “misleading” people.

“I just wanted to start out the show by acknowledging that I made some comments that people might have felt were misleading. To anybody that felt misled by those comments, I take full responsibility for those comments,” Rodgers said.

Aaron Rodgers during his faceoff with the Seahawks in week 10 led his team to a 17-0 victory in his first game following his return to the gridiron. However, his misleading revelation could still not be tolerated, since the NFL has some ground rules on which the league is dependent right now.
