Carolina Panthers started this season brightly, winning three on the trot. But ever since then, things have turned from bad to worse for the Panthers. The Panthers are currently on a four-game losing streak, with their latest being a 38-3 loss to Tampa Bay. Now, they have revealed their interest in Deshaun Watson.
Thanks to their sub-par offensive display this season, Panthers owner David Tepper feels the need for a change of personnel. Deshaun Watson in the past few days was reportedly set to join the Panthers by next week, but it seems that there’s a twist in the tale.

Deshaun Watson – Christian McCaffrey swap deal talks never existed
The Carolina Panthers have been behind Deshaun Watson since time immemorial. Hence, the rumors linking Watson to Carolina didn’t surprise anyone. But as rumors started emerging that Panthers RB McCaffrey would be traded to Houston to get Deshaun, the NFL fandom labeled it as crazy. After all, Christian has been the sole bright spot in the Panthers setup. Trading him makes no sense.
Charles Robinson has been one of the most reliable journalists for NFL news over the years. According to him, the Panthers have pulled the plug on Deshaun, and McCaffrey rumors have been false from the beginning. “Carolina Panthers pulled the plug on a Deshaun Watson pursuit Tuesday,” he said on Twitter. “There are no talks. Christian McCaffrey was never part of the talks, nor would the Texans want him to be. Houston is not onboarding that kind of running back salary. Texans want to clear salary, not add,” Robinson stated.

With Robinson clearing out that McCaffrey to Houston and Deshaun to Panthers rumors were false, one has to wonder from where these rumors came in the first place. This is where Miami Dolphins come in. Miami Dolphins have long been admirers of Watson. This has led to some fans thinking that all these rumors are all a trick by Houston to entice Dolphins to make a move for Deshaun. Fortunately, we have Charles Robinson to clear up and, according to him, that’s not the case.
“I honestly don’t know where some of the stuff is coming from. But it’s been a one-team race the whole way, simply because Watson isn’t waiving his no-trade to any team but Miami. As of right now, today, it’s not on track to get done. The same issues as in August are killing it,” he revealed.
Where do you think Watson will end up by next week? Let us know!
