New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is not a typical head coach in the NFL who shares his excitement on many football plays. The 6-time Super Bowl-winning head coach was eager to discuss something he describes as ‘one of the greatest NFL plays of all time’. Recently, the NFL Network clip capturing his enthusiasm on Hall of Famer safety Ed Reed’s anticipation of a Peyton Manning throw was garnering attention. Belichick praises Reed for using Manning’s intelligence against him by misplaying coverage and setting up a trap.

Belichick again analyzed the same play with Brady in an NFL Films clip. He describes Reed as the best and most complete safety he has ever encountered. It seems Belichick would have been open to welcoming a player of his caliber, who appeared unstoppable throughout his career.
