“The Brits Are Broken”: NFL World Chimes in on Soccer-Football Debate After England Vs. US Ends in a Stalemate

On Friday night, England played against the USA in the Fifa World Cup Group B match. Before the match, there was a lot of hype among the fans, as social media was flooded with soccer vs football debates. Moreover, England was the favorite coming into the match; however, the USMNT put up a great fight and drew with England.

After the match, many British fans felt disappointed. In viral footage, many England fans were throwing their drinks in disappointment. After seeing that, many NFL fans started mocking the fans, as the soccer vs football debate grew even further.

NFL fans mock England fans for drawing against the USMNT

Earlier, the official Twitter handle of Barstool Sports posted that viral video and in the caption they wrote, The Brits are broken over a draw.

Sports anchor Brian Holland posted the same video, as he also mocked the British fans.

Pro analyst Melissa Ortiz posted another video where the US fans were chanting ‘It’s called soccer’ inside the stadium.

Washington Post writer Steven Goff posted some headlines from the morning newspapers.

Many believe that the US team played far better Soccer than England and they were unlucky not to get the win.

Meanwhile, NFL fans also chimed in and started taking digs at the Soccer fans from England. One fan talked about the boring match and plenty of flopping. In reply, one Soccer fan joked about Mac Jones while talking about the NFL.

One NFL fan provided a reason why people in America don’t like soccer. Then, one soccer fan replied.

One particular fan projected a scenario regarding All-Pro players playing against the England players.

Another fan felt the USMNT was a far better team than England on Friday.

One Twitter user joked about getting entertained by England fans throwing beers.

Meanwhile, one NFL fan talked about Tyreek Hill, Justine Jefferson, and DK Metcalf joining the US soccer team.

Notably, a few days back, Hill posted a tweet, where he showed his regret for not playing Soccer after college. Many fans supported his decision to switch to Football; on the other hand, some fans felt he could have improved the US Soccer team massively.

Nevertheless, England is currently at the top of Group B despite drawing against the USA. As for the USMNT, they are currently sitting in third place behind England and Iran. However, they still have a chance to qualify for the knock-outs if they beat Iran in their last group game.
