The arrival of Russell Wilson in Denver was a vast hype. After he had a minor fallout with the Seahawks, a trade sent the QB to the Broncos in a headline-grabbing trade. But he has failed to capitalize in his first year. As the franchise struggled, Wilson suffered a DangeRuss situation in Week 14. The QB1 took a grievous hit that resulted in a concussion.

During the Week 14 Chiefs-Broncos game, Russell Wilson took the snap and attempted to scramble in the fourth quarter. At the end of the 14-yard blitz, Chiefs defender Frank Clark sought to tackle the Broncos quarterback. He seemingly put his whole body weight on Wilson to stop him. The QB1 got a first down, but it culminated in a disastrous situation.

After getting sacked by Chiefs’ Frank Clark, Russell Wilson went down in the field and hit head first. The Broncos quarterback remained motionless on the turf as medical personnel hustled to his aid. He slowly stood up and marched to the side of the field on his own, then to the blue trauma bay. He eventually went into the locker room and did not return to play. One image showed a nasty bump in Wilson’s forehead.

Brett Rypien took over Russell Wilson after the QB1 left the game due to the horrific hit. He completed a drive with a touchdown pass to Jerry Jeudy, adding six points for the Broncos in the fourth quarter.

After facing a severe blow to the head, the franchise ruled out Russell Wilson from the game over a concussion scare. It led to HC Nathaniel Hackett revealing that Wilson had entered the concussion protocol. It would place the QB1’s status for the rest of the games in peril. After the injury, Broncos backup quarterback Brett Rypien also spoke about The Asterisk.
