The former head coach of Jackson State University took a new job at the University of Colorado. CU announced Sanders as their head coach on December 4. The Pro Football Hall of Famer has had a great impact on the season tickets. There is a heightened interest in buying them.

This is the Prime Effect of Sanders
Usually, Cecil Hairston II, Colorado Buffaloes’ associate athletic director for ticket operations and sales, and his team contact fans in the offseason to renew their season tickets. However, that is not the issue they had this year. Their sake went off the records. 25% of season ticket holders from this year have committed to the 2023 campaign. It is also impressive that the fans are themselves contacting the sales office to renew their passes.

“I don’t think any of us are bored during the day,” said Hairston. “We haven’t experienced anything quite like this before. The Prime Effect is real, that’s for sure.” Previously, only 1,000 interest forms could get filled. But now more than 7,000 people have filled out interest forms for season tickets, and CU has received 1,700 deposits for new tickets.
Response from fans has been overwhelming and unexpected. Along with an advancement in the sale of ticket tickets, fans cleared out the Buff’s team store. As soon as the Deion Sanders ‘Prime’ merch was launched, the team store earned double the revenue than they had ever before.

Deion Sanders’ mega-contract!
CU is not the only one that is experiencing fiscal advantages. The former NFL athlete secured a mega-deal with his current employer. He signed a $29.5 million deal with Colorado for five years.

Sanders will earn $5.5 million in his first year and his base salary will be $500,000 aided by $1.75 million for radio, television, and other public appearances, another $1.75 million for promotion and fundraising, and a final $1.5 million for “development of the student-athlete.” This deal is the largest that a CU football coach ever received.
