The problems seem to keep on piling on for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady. After having lost 2 straight games to probably their 2 biggest rivals, the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bucs now have another loss on their hands. Their latest signing, veteran receiver Cole Beasley, has retired from football.

Beasley’s agents told NFL Network Insiders Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo about the retirement news, saying “He is ready to be with his family after playing in 11 seasons and it’s time to be a full-time dad and husband.”

Beasley spent 7 of his 11 years in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, who signed him after he was undrafted during the 2012 NFL draft. He finished his stint with the Cowboys in 2018, with 319/450 for 3,271 yards, and 23 touchdowns in 103 games. His career-high receptions and yards came with the Cowboys in the 2016 season.

In 2019, Beasley signed with the Buffalo Bills, and in 3 seasons he played 46 games. During which managed to rack up 231/324 for 2,438, and 11 touchdowns. The bills released him in March 2022, and 6 months later he signed with Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, only to retire after 2 games.

The news, however, has sparked a variety of reactions from fans. It seems like a lot of fans are not very sympathetic to Beasley’s short stint at Tampa Bay. Nor do they accept his reason to be “a full-time dad and husband” as convincing enough. Some even highlight that the Bucs lost both their games when Beasley started.

It did not take long for the fans to draw out-of-the-box conclusions from the retirement news. With recent reports about TB12 and Gisele Bündchen hiring divorce lawyers, one cannot possibly blame Beasley if the fans are somehow right.

Beasley’s career did not impress many either, and fans’ reactions suggest retirement is not that big of a loss for anyone, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But some fans do applaud him for his time with Josh Allen at Buffalo.

Some fans even credited Beasley’s sudden retirement to the Bucs losing against the Chiefs and the Packers. Does Beasley think Brady’s magic is finally waning away? Or did he not fancy a comeback career with the Bucs?
