Ex-Texas Tech and Current Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has bridged a marketing alliance between the teams to promote the Texas-based college. The NFL MVP remembers where his roots are and has always worked in helping the Red Raiders come up. His latest initiative involves the two teams teaming up for a media campaign designed to increase the visibility of the university.

Beaming with excitement and pride, Texas Tech President, Lawrence Schovanec expressed his gratitude towards college alumni Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs. “We’re incredibly excited to partner with the Kansas City Chiefs to expand the reach of the Texas Tech brand,” said Lawrence Schovanec, Texas Tech president. “The Chiefs organization and their superstar quarterback, Texas Tech’s own Patrick Mahomes, have a reputation for excellence and a global audience of die-hard fans. Texas Tech is amongst 16 colleges across the US to be classified both in the “Highest Research Activity” and Hispanic-Serving Institution category. Aiming to promote the college as a desirable higher education institution in the country, the marketing alliance will be executed in different channels of media. For starters, during each Kansas City match, the Red Raiders will be heavily featured on the Arrowhead Stadium video board. Before each match, there will be a radio advertisement placement as part of the pre-game broadcast. The Texas-based college will also be featured in Chiefs’ local television broadcasts. Lastly, the college will be promoted via social media and digital channels to complete a holistic marketing program.
