When Will Tom Brady Become Eligible to Enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

Tom Brady has, at last, called it a career after making the official announcement for his retirement Tuesday morning. With that, the day that many dreaded after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ loss against the Los Angeles Rams finally arrived. The seven-time Super Bowl winner will no longer be seen in the NFL as a quarterback.

Since he has now retired, the talks of his Hall of Fame induction have been circulating and are certainly a popular gossip in the NFL town. As the quarterback has achieved more than anyone in the league ever before, it is obvious for him to be a Hall of Famer. His incredible 22 years have produced bizarre achievements, which is why he is undeniably the best among the best.

The resume of the 44-year-old is one of its kind. His list of achievements and honors is never-ending, which makes him colloquially the GOAT. Since his Hall of Fame induction is certainly inevitable, the question lies: when will the veteran be eligible for it? His fans will remain impatient till the day his bust is put in the Canton.

When will Tom Brady be eligible for the Hall of Fame induction?

According to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a football player will be deemed eligible only if he “has not played or been on an active regular- or post-season player roster for five consecutive seasons.” And since Tom Brady has retired in 2022, he will not be eligible for the HoF induction until 2027.

It really brings a new perspective on Brady after mentioning that he was just a 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. Bill Belichick certainly had that acumen to select Brady and make him a starter for the very next season. However, it cannot be denied that Tom Brady was something special. It is not always that a 199th overall pick makes the Hall of Fame.

The future Hall of Famer during his career has had 15 Pro Bowls, three-time first-team All-Pro, three-time NFL MVP, seven Super Bowls, five-time Super Bowl MVP, and two-time OPOY, along with a long list of other accolades, which is by far the most GOAT worthy resume one can ever build.

His absence has created a void in the hearts of many and will remain the most emotional moment for the fans, along with the quarterback himself. The NFL awaits to honor Tom Brady one last time by inducting him in the Hall of Fame class of 2027.
