Yet Again, Broncos Need Seattle Seahawks After Paying $245 Million to Ace Leader Russell Wilson Went South With Injury

Denver Broncos has more worries after the 19-16 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers in OT. Unfortunately for the Broncos Country, star QB Russell Wilson is hit with a fresh injury, a far more significant one. The 33-year-old has hurt his hamstring and the NFL media reported it to be a serious one. 

A replacement for the star QB is a challenge, as there aren’t many top free agents available at the moment. However, there is an opportunity for the 2016 Super Bowl 50 champions to get a valuable addition to the team. They have to approach the Seattle Seahawks once again to make it work. Previously, the Broncos had acquired Wilson by paying a massive $245million deal.

Pete Carroll’s men have found an impact maker in Geno Smith. The 33-year-old has taken up the top position, and it leaves the young QB Drew Lock to wait for games. According to NFL analysts and rumors, Broncos may look up to the #2 QB as a potential replacement. The 25-year-old is a young prospect who is hungry to go this season.

What happened to Russell Wilson and Broncos?

The Broncos mustered just 258 yards of total offense. It was a repeat of last week’s performance. What has hurt them is the injury to their top QB. Wilson underwent an MRI. He is considered day-to-day for recovery. There is no clarity about his participation in the next game.

Even if his injury is not serious, it is viable to look out for a backup option. The NFL trade deadline is slated for November 1. As a result, Nathaniel Hackett and his men need to act quickly to resolve their issues.
