It is official Pat McAfee will return to the squared circle for WrestleMania. After rumors running wild around the NFL punter’s return, many wondered about his opponent. Many fans speculated that the chairman of the WWE Vince McMahon himself will challenge McAfee. But that is not the case. Instead, we got a young talent who is trying to impress his boss.
Austin Theory will be challenging Pat McAfee at the show of shows. The WWE made it official after what happened between Theory and McAfee on SmackDown Live. The color commentator of the show took to Twitter to address the situation.

Austin Theory slapped Pat McAfee on SmackDown Live
Pat McAfee interviewed Vince McMahon on Thursday. The Chairman of the WWE, for the first time in 15 years, did a sit-down interview. During the special episode, McMahon praised the former NFL star and acknowledged how he loved professional wrestling. As a token of his appreciation, Vince invited McAfee to the ring at WrestleMania.

Pat was excited and continued his job as SmackDown Live’s color commentator. But during the broadcast, a RAW superstar walked down the ramp. It was none other than Austin Theory. The young superstar was addressing the WWE Universe in the ring. But in the middle of his promo, Theory started talking trash to Pat McAfee. He has been trying to impress Vince McMahon for a while now. So while putting over his boss, Austin started to insult the commentator.

Theory walked towards the commentary table and revealed that he was McAfee’s opponent at WrestleMania. He said he would beat Pat to a pulp. Then Theory slapped Pat’s headset off.

Pat McAfee looked very confused with the entire confrontation. After Austin Theory slapped the former NFL player, he left the ringside. Pat tried to call him back. But Theory made a quick exit. McAfee said, “I don’t even know who you are?”

This promo was enough to ignite the feud between the two. McAfee accepted Theory’s challenge at WrestleMania. The Punter tweeted, “I don’t know who you are You little B*tch boy!!” For some reason, Pat also blamed his broadcasting colleague, Michael Cole. In the tweet, he wrote it was Cole’s fault.
