The loyal fanbase of the Detroit Lions is a bit disturbed. They won’t get to see some of their players perform on Thursday night. However, the distress for Head Coach Dan Campbell is much more than that of the fans. His team faces the Green Bay Packers this Thursday Night. But 9 of their players are injured.

These injuries can have a substantial impact on the Lions’ performance this season. However, the players who will be on the field on Thursday night are exceptional, so they can tackle the game. After having a one-sided win against the Falcons in Week 3, the Lions are looking forward to their next match. Nevertheless, the fans, as well as the Head Coach, are concerned about the injured players before the game.

5 among the 9 Detroit Lions in limited practice

The injured players, including some of the team’s finest, may have to sit out the game against the Packers. The list includes Taylor Decker, David Montgomery, and Frank Ragnow. On the bright side, Ragnow has recovered and will be seen at the Lambeau Field. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Decker and Montgomery.

Decker is suffering an ankle injury and Montgomery, along with LG Johan Jackson, is suffering from a thigh injury. Emmanuel Moseley is facing a knee/hamstring injury whereas Kerby Joseph has his hip injured. Thus, all these are listed under the limited participation column.

However, Campbell hinted at Decker’s and Montgomery’s possible participation at Tuesday’s Conference. “The two that are tending the most positive right now would be Decker and D-Mo. Those are the two I’m starting to feel pretty good about,” he said. These players can practice but only partially, unlike the ones placed under the no practice column.

At least they are in a better position than Matt Nelson and Halapoulivaati Vaitai, who are undergoing an ankle and a knee injury respectively. These two are under the no practice column. Hence, the chances of them appearing on Thursday Night are pretty slim. So the Packers won’t have to worry about them, but they still have a lot to worry about.

What’s in store for the Packers against the Lions?

The Green Bay Packers aren’t in a great position themselves as a team. The toll of their injured players, i.e. 10, as compared to that of their rivals. And most of them will not be participating as they fall under the do not participate column. Only 2 players, Rashan Gary and Aaron Jones, fall under limited participation and have a slight chance of playing on Thursday.

So, the Packers will have to manage the game without their original cornerbacks, and other important players. Whatever the result between these two might come out to be, fans will have a great time enjoying these two rivals facing each other.
