Can Baker Mayfield Lead Cleveland to a Rare Comeback Win Against Chiefs?

Confidence was brimming in the Cleveland Browns locker room in the build-up to Sunday’s Divisional Round Playoff against reigning Super Bowl Champions, Kansas City Chiefs. The Baker Mayfield-led outfit put up a strong show last weekend to knockout AFC North rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in the Wild Card Playoffs.
It was the home team who got off to a positive start, ending the first quarter with a slender 3-point lead. But all that changed in the next quarter after some smart plays by Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. The 2018 NFL MVP stamped his authority on the game by hitting TE Travis Kelce for the first touchdown of the game. He added to that lead with another rushing touchdown in the second quarter.

As brought to our notice by ESPN, the Browns have failed to win 19 consecutive games when trailing by 10+ points at the half-time stage. The last time they won a game from a 10-point deficit was in the 2018 NFL regular season against the New York Jets. Who was the hero back then? Baker Mayfield, of course.
The former Oklahoma Sooners man came off the bench to replace Tyrod Taylor in the second half with the home team trailing by a 3-14 margin. However, Mayfield did enough to ensure the game would end with a 21-17 scoreline. He threw for 201 yards against zero interceptions.
