“He Played Poorly in the 4th” – Analyst Takes a Dig at Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers

There was a lot of hope surrounding the Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers in the build-up to Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field.

The NFC North champions were regarded as the #1 offense as Rodgers catapulted the Packers to the NFC Finals with a convincing win over LA Rams. But as fate would have it, Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers outfit had different plans.

The visiting team made their way to a 26-31 win on away soil to ensure a spot in this year’s Super Bowl LV event. The home team had no one to blame but themselves for letting the Bucs defense run riot in the middle and make some outstanding plays.

Packers HC Matt LaFleur faced severe flak on social media for a dicey call on fourth down just before half-time. But one can’t help but wonder, did Aaron Rodgers do enough?

Skip Bayless was at his abrasive best when commenting on Aaron Rodgers and their latest setback at the hands of the Buccaneers on Sunday.

The outspoken TV show personality maintained that despite coach LaFleur’s controversial call at 4th down, Rodgers was also to blame for the NFC Championship loss.

He said, “Well, obviously, they had decided they needed to move on from Aaron Rodgers because his stats had declined over the last four years.

“He was the Comeback Player of the Year this year, he had the ultimate bounce-back season because he is the MVP, but that’s all he’s going to be is the MVP because he’s not going to go to a Super Bowl because he played poorly in the 4th quarter,” Bayless said on the show.

Rodgers and Co. started the game as favorites to make it to this year’s Super Bowl LV event in Florida. But multiple turnovers in the first half and poor on-field calls condemned the home team to yet another loss at the NFC Championship level.

The Packers were beaten at the same stage last season at the hands of Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers. There will be a lot of questions asked of LaFleur and Rodgers in the coming weeks.
