The Cleveland Browns were oh-so-close to causing the biggest upset in recent memory against the Kansas City Chiefs.
While the Browns eventually got knocked out of the playoffs with a loss in the AFC Divisional Round, the side displayed just how far it has come this season under new head coach Kevin Stefanski.
And Browns QB Baker Mayfield is keen on carrying forward this momentum into next season.

Baker Mayfield on establishing a winning culture
Talking to the media after the game, Baker Mayfield said that the team had set a new standard for itself.
“I have restated throughout the season, there is a new standard here and that is to be expected,” he said.

Eager to shed the perception of being a franchise which almost always fails to make the postseason, Baker talked about going into the new season with added motivation.

“This is going to leave a bad taste in our guys’ mouth for extra motivation through the offseason, but yeah, we have come a long way since I first got here.”
“We are not done yet, and that is the best part. Obviously, it hurts to have to wait until next September to have to play, but it is what it is,” he added.
Playoffs a crucial learning curve for the Cleveland Browns
The Browns who made their first playoff appearance in 18 years this season have a lot to take away from the experience.
“I think it will be extremely valuable for our guys to look at how each play matters. You have to be extremely locked in and take care of business and obviously, the atmosphere was unbelievable today,” Mayfield said.
“Those are valuable learning experiences that we have to truly take in and grow from,” he added.

The Browns have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about their future. Under new head coach Kevin Stefanski, this young roster is headed towards the right direction.
And with players like Mayfield, Nick Chubb, OBJ and Jarvis Landry at their disposal, big things can be expected from the Browns in the seasons to come.
