Mike Evans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers experienced great success on Sunday night. The franchise won the Super Bowl, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in a blow out victory. It was a sweet victory for the Buccaneers, especially because they were able to win the Super Bowl as a wildcard team in their own stadium. And now, Evans wants to keep that success by any means.
Buccaneers’ head coach Bruce Arians spoke to the press after their phenomenal Super Bowl victory. He revealed that Mike Evans showed his excellent character. He offered to take a pay cut from his contract so that the team can keep the players they want in the team. Arians called Evans the most selfless player he ever worked with.

“Mike Evans is the most unselfish superstar I’ve ever met,” he said. “He’s told us to use some of his money if we need to contracts to keep the team together.” Mike Evans, according to his contract, will earn $15.2 million in 2021. One would assume that as a pro-athlete, Evans would be focused on maximizing his earnings and not wanting to sacrifice it for anyone else.

However, Evans has shown that he is more concerned with keeping the core of the Buccaneers’ team. The Buccaneers have several free-agents in the off-season, such as Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Brown, Shaq Barrett, and Chris Godwin, all of whom will be trying to cash-in on their elevated value after the Super Bowl win.
The Buccaneers front-office has a major task in front of them. They must now try to find a way to bring back several key players who become free agents this off-season. If they cannot match the money, the Buccaneers must try to find adequate replacements for the players they lose.
