Super Bowl Winner Rob Gronkowski Jokes About Retiring Again

Rob Gronkowski is one of the greatest tight-ends in the history of the NFL. The former New England Patriots player just made a statement, winning his fourth Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What made his accomplishment even more impressive is that he did it after coming out of retirement last year. And now, he jokingly suggested he may retire once again.
Rob Gronkowski was a guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Gronk was jubilant about winning the Super Bowl. When asked about coming back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he noted that there is a very good chance that he returns to the team. He further added that the rest of the team coming back will mean that they will be a threat in the Super Bowl.

“I don’t see why I won’t be back with the Bucs. But we can have a great team coming back too. Obviously, we just won it all, Super Bowl LV champs. It’s already two days past the game and I’m already thinking like ‘Man, what is going to be like next year? Can we make it back? What do I got to do?’ That’s already in my mind.”
Rob Gronkowski doesn’t want to go to training camp
Gronkowski joked that he may retire once again just to avoid the pre-season training. He said, “Maybe I’ll retire again. Maybe I’ll retire just so I don’t do training camp. Because training camp like, ugh. And then I’ll come back like, ‘Hey will you guys take me back? Yeah, I’ll come back. It’s game time? Perfect!'”

Gronkowski’s comeback has been nothing short of miraculous. He retired in 2019, after winning his third Super Bowl with the New England Patriots. He cited his mental health as the primary factor in his retirement. However, with Tom Brady departing New England to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was able to recruit Gronk with him to find some more success.

Gronk and Brady linked up during the Super Bowl for the first two touchdowns that secured the win for the Buccaneers. The duo showed that they are still one of the most elite pairings in NFL history, as they broke the record set by Jerry Rice and Joe Montana for most touchdowns made by a duo in NFL post-season history.
