For the second time in three weeks, Ravens coach John Harbaugh repeated the same judgment. For the second time, he went for a 2-point convert to win the game in the final minute of regulation. Unfortunately, it backfired as Tyler Huntley’s incompletion to tight end Mark Andrews on the 2-point try with 42 seconds left was the difference in the Ravens’ 31-30 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Harbaugh defended his decision after the Ravens were defeated for the second time in three weeks. “We were just trying to get the win right there,” Harbaugh said. “I think our chances of winning right there were a little bit higher than overtime, maybe if you calculate it out. I felt good about it.”

Due to the third straight loss, The Ravens are now 8-6 and are out of first place in the AFC North for the first time since October 31.

NFL Twitter comes to Harbaugh’s rescue

Ravens fans were clearly disappointed with Harbaugh’s judgment. But one must understand that taking responsibility in crunch situations requires character and there is no guarantee of a win. The coach post-match also echoed the same sentiments. The Ravens HC revealed that using data and numbers at that point is very ineffective. Hence it is necessary to trust the gut.

“The numbers are the numbers, but the numbers aren’t perfect,” Harbaugh said. “I can tell you this; I’ve shot a lot of holes in the numbers with the numbers guys. They don’t take everything into account, so you just make a decision. The numbers are part of it, but the numbers aren’t the main decision.”

The poor guy has been the butt of the jokes for the past two days. Luckily for him, he also got a lot of support. Following are some of the best reactions –
