Nintendo has seen a surge in the demand for the Switch console during the ongoing pandemic. To date, Nintendo has sold over 62 million copies of it worldwide. Furthermore, it is expected to have a long lifespan, during which it might surpass Wii’s total sales of 102.63 million units.
The next-gen consoles will make their way to the ramp sometime later this year. To step up the competition, Nintendo plans to debut an upgraded model of the Switch next year. A series of new games will also accompany the upgraded model. Nintendo hopes that the upgraded edition will prove to be a fierce rival to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
