5-time Grand Slam winner, Maria Sharapova has left a special legacy, one of a kind. The success she’s enjoyed on the tennis courts has been equivalent to the success she’s enjoyed outside of it too. Sharapova has been ranked as the highest-paid female athlete for a record 11 consecutive times.
When she began playing in the majors, she was a young teenager. The Russian will always be remembered for her first Grand Slam title victory. A young 17-year-old beat the then World No. 1 Serena Williams on the Center Court at Wimbledon. The stage couldn’t be grander. That win changed her life, and she became an overnight sensation.
After all these glorious years, Maria Sharapova decided to hang her boots. The loss she suffered against Donna Vekic in the first round of the Australian Open last year was the final nail in the coffin.

Sharapova: Training to keep sane
Recently, Maria was doing a round of questions and answers with her fans. The Russian was asked if she still trains or workouts, and she stated, “Training but for sanity and toning/not to win grand slams.” The Russian seems certain that she doesn’t intend to make a comeback. At least for now, she seems quite occupied with her professional commitments and endorsements.
Although she’s the face of a number of leading brands, her company ‘Sugarpova’ holds importance in her professional and personal life. Sugarpova is a premium candy line that reflects the glamorous character of the Russian herself.
