World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is currently in Adelaide in Australia. He will be playing at the exhibition event ‘A Day at the Drive’. The Serb along with other big names such as Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams will be involved in the one-day event before all of them head to Melbourne for the first major of the new season.
As it’s well known, players are being in isolation due to the quarantine protocols. However, certain players are exempted from these rules. The players headlining the event in Adelaide will be excluded from the COVID-19 regulations. Upon hearing this latest development, Novak put forward a set of proposals before Tennis Australia.

- Fitness and training material in all rooms.
- Decent food, according to the level of the tournament and from an elite athlete.
- Reduce the days of isolation for the 47 isolated players, carrying out more tests that confirm that all are negative.
- Permission to visit your coach or physical trainer, as long as both have passed the PCR.
- If the previous proposal has the green light, that both the player and his coach are on the same floor of the hotel.
- Move, as much as possible, as many tennis players to private houses with a court to train.

Novak Djokovic Wants Voices of All Players to Be Heard
The 8-Time Australian Open winner stepped down from the president’s post of the ATP Player Council and established the PTPA (Professional Tennis Players Association). The reason cited for that move was the ‘voices of all players not being heard’. This current move by Novak supports the issue regarding the protocols at the Australian Open.
