The men’s golf competition is currently underway at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Xander Schauffele is facing a nightmare as he’s staying in a hotel instead of in the Olympic Village. He chose to stay at a hotel because it was more convenient for getting to the venue, Kasumigaseki Country Club.
But he may have regretted his decision on Wednesday night. Yes, Schauffele may have had a quicker commute to the venue before Thursday’s opening round of the Olympics, but he did not have a sound sleep due to a tough night. He faced a few problems and shared about the same after his round one at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
“Our hotel actually lost all power,” says Xander Schauffele

The temperature in Tokyo has been on the higher side, hovering around 90 degrees Fahrenheit along with high humidity. So obviously, Xander Schauffele was sarcastic about his nice feeling. Furthermore, he elaborated on what happened on Wednesday night.

“An emergency light came on, we had to unscrew a light bulb or sleep with the lights on,” Schauffele said. “My caddie slept with the lights on in his hotel room. I don’t know. It was out for probably five hours.”
This sounds pretty rough unless you are Xander Schauffele’s caddie, Austin Kaiser. If Xander says that his caddie slept, that guy must be one of the soundest sleepers in the world. Because sleeping under such circumstances is not an easy job, especially when you have a big event lined up the next day early in the morning.

However, the lack of sound sleep did not seem to hurt Xander Schuffele so much. He scored 68 and remained -3 in the opening round of the prestigious Tokyo Olympics 2020.
